Summit field notes: when dashboards become the product

At this year's payments summit, the loudest theme was observability. Teams no longer accept reconciling five PSP exports every morning — they want a single event stream with drill-down to decline codes, settlement lag, and merchant-level anomalies.

Routing conversations shifted too. Cost-only rules are giving way to composite scores: acceptance probability, latency p95, and chargeback history weighted in real time. Onboarding panels echoed the same story — KYC is becoming a ticketed workflow with SLA timers, not a shared inbox of PDF attachments.
